Author: If you are looking for an Adopt a Family program for any holidays, especially Christmas, then it's almost time to apply! Although there are many adopt a family programs, they are often filled up fast! Therefore, the sooner you apply the better. The problem is that many families do not anticipate needing help for Christmas so they wait until it's too late and by the time they start finding an Adopt a Family program to apply to, most programs have stopped accepting applications for the year. So, don't make that mistake. Don't wait. If you think you might need a little help this Christmas, start calling people now. There are also online applications you can fill out, however you want to apply.
What to do if I'm too late to apply for an Adopt a Family Program?
Every year, there are many families that cannot get in on Adopt a Family Programs. It's unfortunate that Adopt a Family Programs have limited funding and even though they want to help every family that needs help, they cannot. They simply do not have enough funds, donors or sponsors to keep taking applications for Adopt a Family Programs. However, if you are in a position to need last minute help, there are often generous folks who want to adopt a family in the last minutes. You have to reach out to them and have faith. Last year, many people got last minute help from generous adoptors. If you are in an Adopt a Family Program, then you are almost guaranteed to get help before Christmas arrives. If you are not in an Adopt a Family Program, then it's possible that you will get adopted in the last minute. Let others know what help you need and have faith.

I was wondering how to try to get my sister and her three kids adopted for Christmas. My sister has recently lost her job and she is trying her hardest to find a job in order to get her children Christmas, but it’s looking bleak. There are no jobs around here and she has no vehicle to get her back and forth to another town. She doesn’t need much, but her youngest two daughters, twin eight year olds still believe in the magic of Christmas and Santa and we are trying our hardest to make sure that they still believe as long as they can. Unfortunately, there isn’t much that me and my parents can do because we are also struggling. If there is anything that anyone can do, it would be much appriciated. All they need is some clothes, a few toys, and Christmas dinner. Once again, I appriciate anything that anyone can do. God bless everyone this Christmas!!!
I am a newly single mom to a 4 year boy and newborn (8/3/11). I was recently left by my husband. I have not been in a situation where I have needed help in the past, so I am inquiring as to how to apply for this program. I am unable to pay rent, car payment, utilities. All of the things that I took for granted have been taken away. I am currently staying with a friend and have taken a job at the first place I could find to hire me. I am a single mother of six, and I have a new grandson five days old. I am a full-time student studying Child Growth and Development. I have been in a bind for the last four months because I was shot over the summer. I never knew how hard it could be having to depend on other people to do things for you. And in today’s economy there is really no room for people to help you unless they are financially stable. This was not an option in my family. How do we apply to hopefully get our family adopted for Christmas? We are a family of 4 and live in Wisconsin. My husband is disabled and has many health issues. My two children are special needs (whom we adopted when they were infants and knew they had needs). Our daughter is 18 and our son is 16. I cannot work due to having to care for my husband and children, driving to doctors etc. Trying to make it on disability has been very hard. I use the food pantry, have applied for energy assistance etc but I would just like to be able to put alittle surprise under the Christmas tree for them. If you could help I would greatly appreciate. I am not sure how this works, but am so thankful it is here. We are a U.S. Army family that didn’t anticipate my being laid off from work. We have children and it’s going to be a pretty dismal Christmas for them if something doesn’t break for us soon. The military pay is difficult to live on, but we’re proud of our soldier and do what we can to get by. We have three children between 13-16 and they have really been wonderful little soldiers themselves, and rarely complain. I am a struggling single mom of an 8 year old beautiful special needs daughter. She is so cute and so sweet and so much fun, but she is developmentally delayed and cannot talk. I have been struggling really hard trying to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table for her and my oldest daughter who has been making straight A’s in school. I am a cancer, Crohn’s, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and liver disease survivor (so far) with four children (# girls 17, 16, and 9, and one son 18)living in the home. I live on a small disability check every month and I am only able to either pay the rent or the light bill, which has been extremely difficult. My children have been lookingf for jobs, but the economy is so bad they have not been able to obtain a job. I have not been able to pay my Nov. rent and I will not be able to pay my December rent because I must pay the light bill. My children will have no Christmas, if I cannot find someone to adopt our family. My children go without so much all year long, even without the most basic necessities, such as toilet paper, feminine products,clothing,cleaning supplies, and much more, including food. Soon we will be homeless too. What makes my children so special, is that they take care of me with a smile on their face and their heads held high, and with so much love. They have gone through so much, they have gone without so much much, but yet they persevere through it all happy, loving, and giving selflessly. These children deserve Christmas because of who they are inside. They deserve so much that I have not been able to give them for the last 3 years. Please someone find it in your heart to give my children a Christmas that I cannot provide, which is so embarrasssing and humiliating for me to say. I feel like a total failure. However, I am in college getting a bachlors degree in criminal justice with the hope that I will go into remission and I will be able to go back to work someday! I am proud of that because I will be able to give my children all the things they go without. But please do think I am lazy I volunteer when ever my health permits at my children’s schools, girl scouts, and am on the school improvement council. My husband is a full time student and works as much as possible for 10.00 an hour as a line cook. He trys so hard it breaks my heart to see him so upset that he can not do more but I know that soon once he gets his BA degree in 2 years we finically much more secure, in our own house and be hopefully able to help another family like us. My beautiful daughter also suffers from severe Asthma I am not talking about a kid who uses an inhaler once a week but a little girl who is hospitalized at least five times a year get pneumonia at least 2 a winter and is scarred to play because of fear of not being able to breathe. Her lungs never fully devolved due to her being a preemie. But through all of this she is always smiling laughing ( although sadly that sometimes causes her an attack) but she is a great student and loves fashion, arts, and crafts. My Little Superhero is my 5 year old Kayden who thank the gods is happy and healthy he is the family ambassador as he try’s to say something kind to everyone and is always telling someone how nice pretty or great they are. So I from him I numerously been told I am the “best Mommy ever”. I really want to be but as it stands right now our family will be lucky to give him a action figure from “Santa” and my daughter a box of pastels she wants. I am not one to ask for anything but fuel assistance only gave $200 this year which is not even one month of heating and us living off 1700 a month total and our rent being 850 with no utility’s as you can see dos not leave any room for anything. I am not one to ask for anything but fuel assistance only gave $200 this year which is not even one month of heating and us living off 1700 a month total and our rent being 850 with no utility’s as you can see dos not leave any room for anything. My daughter desperately needs a warm jacket. I am very embarrassed to even ask but if anyone, family or group could help us we would be so appreciative of any help at all. I will even be willing to work out some sort of trade if there is filing or your child needs a science tutor I would be more than happy to give back what I can. My family and I have been displaced by super storm sandy our home got flooded with 2 feet of water . We have not been able to find suitable housing as of yet . My husband is handicapped (although works everyday) he is awaiting insurance approval for a double hip replacement ) I have 3 children 17 boy , 11 girl and a boy 9 . We lost everything in 2 boys bedrooms a livingroom kitchen bathroom and laundry room . we are currently living in a camper on my neighbors lawn. With the holidays fast approaching and me dealing with with everything and no extra money ( as we have to eat out alot and it cost alot for propane for heat) I feel my kids are gonna be awefully disopointed at christmas . My little heart beats names are Allyna 8, Haley 6, and Jacob 5. I am in the Pittsnurgh are. After a series of events this year I have no money for christmas. But I did save the house and got the electric back on. My kids would appreciate anything given to them for christmas, as for me being able to give them a nice christmas would be the best christmas gift I could have.

Hello, my name is Delores Keener, I must admit this is very difficult for me to do. I try not to be a prideful person but over the years through trials, tribulations, one disappointment after another, broken promises and people being unreliable or preying on the less fortunate with hidden agendas, I’ve tried to give my all to make it where my children and I would never have to ask for help, even at the worst of times! We have survived utility shut offs, no school clothes or supplies, shoes, coats, transportation or the basic necessities, whatever the situation was, I refuse to reach out and when I did, even with the gov., I was made to feel less than human or worthy! I’m a 36 yr old single mother of four and now grandmother of 1, I have worked my whole life and have been taken care of my children from birth, by myself and through the grace of God! I have worked 3-4 jobs at a time and the times I wasn’t working mostly from taken ill, I wasn’t comfortable sitting at home. Even though running a household of five alone is a full time job in itself, I went back to school to learn a new trade or further my education! Even with all that being said, five years ago I was taken out of work due to medical reason and told that I could no longer work! Feeling less than complete, in denial and not accepting my diagnoses I again went back to school to complete some of what I’ve started over the years during my down intervals! Needless to say I graduated an international honor student with all accreditation’s. However, during this time my family and personal life was taking its toll. I transferred to a university and my health took a turn for the worst where I had to then leave school as well! I have been denied disability still, even with the support of all my doctors and their recommendations! Even with that I manage to purchase my home in which I reside, which I appreciate as a blessing because I now can’t afford taxes, non the less rent, yet, I have maintained skipping this to pay that and so on! I have a 18 yr old daughter that just graduated from one of the top known High schools in the city and aspires to attend college in the spring, a 16 yr trying to make his way through school, a 13 yr old graduating from Jr. High and just took his entrance exam to the same top high school my daughter attended, an 11 yr. old that stays on honors and a grand daughter which I teach at home and is smarter than a whip! This is her first real Christmas and my four children third maybe fourth year going without for the holidays! It has gotten harder by the day trying not to feel hopeless and depressed, I feel my independence was striped from me, my old job left me out to dry and I still managed to take others in and help whoever, whenever I can! I’ve given when I myself was in need and find a way to help those when I was to embarrassed to seek it for myself. I’ve pushed through in the past and it hurts me so not being able to not only have to deny them of wants but unable to provide needs! I don’t ask for help or speak up when I know I should out of fear, rejection of being judged or taken advantage of! I now realize that it’s selfish on my part and maybe things have gotten harder because of my selfishness and lack of humility! I have gotten by just saying that presents aren’t what the holidays and birthdays are about and I have provided the major essentials but that is even wearing thin, seeing the look of trying to understand but feeling accomplishments are going unrewarded is damaging to a child, heck it hurts for an adult and elevated tensions throughout the household! Telling them to think of those that have it worst may pacify things but the hurt is still so visible and felt! Being refused help because you don’t look like you need it is the worst feeling and I know I have truly tried many angles to keep up appearances, but I can do this no longer! It’s destroying me as a person, a mother and the loving spirit I have always been! I have no transportation so I don’t get out and even when I had transportation my state of mind itself makes it hard to have that get up and go attitude! I truly know the meaning of being a starving artists! With all the talents and gifts, none is being nurtured under constant duress. I realize this is not healthy, no one gets anywhere without the help of someone and I need help! So I take this time to humble myself and ask that someone hear my prayers!

I’m 27, I have been a single mother for 2 and a half years, to two amazing little boys. My oldest is 4 and my youngest is turning 3 Dec. 23, 2012. With his birthday and Christmas together, and having financial issues this last year, I am not able to get a tree but a few gifts for my children, as that is what I feel would make them happiest. I have full custody of both of my children, one was signed over and the other’s father was sent to prison for assault with a deadly weapon, spousal abuse and domestic violence. I recently went to court to revoke his visitation due to his outbursts and drug abuse. Unfortunately for my babies, I am all they have. I am planning a move early next year to TX, to be closer to relatives as well as amazing opportunities for single mother, so that I can give them everything they deserve in life.
I struggle with depression, anxiety and PTSD, but trying to be as strong as I can be because I know they can feel my stress. I have had an extrememly traumatic childhood and keeping my head up is harder some days than others. I am on food stamps now, so we are not starving, I just hope to find a little something more than I can give my children this Christmas.
